Father, I am hurting! I feel abandoned! I know that You challenge me not to depend on people. Yet, You did put us in families and communities, and so it is difficult not to rely on others. Yet, I also know that You are near to the brokenhearted and save the crushed in spirit.1
Your Word also promises that though my father and mother may forsake me, You will never forsake me.2 Please help me to be strong and courageous because You are with me.3
Even when I walk through the darkest valleys, You are my Shepherd, and I lack nothing.4 Strengthen me, Lord, and uphold me with Your righteous hand.5 I recall Jesus on the cross, crying out, “My God, why have You forsaken me?”6 He bore the weight of sin so I would never be separated from You. Thank You for loving me so much that You gave Your only Son so I might have eternal life.7
Your Word says even if a mother forgets her nursing child, You will never forget me.8 I am engraved on the palms of Your hands.9 When I feel forgotten, let this truth comfort me, reminding me of my worth in Your sight. Nothing in all creation can separate me from Your love in Christ Jesus.10
You are my refuge and strength, always present in trouble.11 When I feel abandoned, remind me that You are with me to the end of the age.12 I cast my anxieties on You, knowing that You care for me.13 Thank You for never leaving me. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
