Lord, Jesus, I am overwhelmed by the weight of my bad decision and, ultimately, my sin. It seemed my best option, but it was not! Even so, You promised that You are near to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit.1 Lord, I’m here asking that You will do as You promised, to heal the brokenhearted and bind up their wounds.2
I know that Your Spirit is upon me, bringing good news and proclaiming liberty to my soul that feels bound by shame and regret.3 Jesus, You left me Your peace, not as the world gives, but a peace that surpasses all understanding.4 I surrender my burdens to You, trusting that You will give me rest for my weary soul.5
You are the Father of mercies, the God of all comfort, and You comfort me in all my afflictions, so I can one day comfort others who walk a similar path.6 I confess my sins to You, Lord, knowing that You are faithful to forgive me and cleanse me from all unrighteousness.7 There is no condemnation for me because I am in Christ Jesus.8 I thank You for redeeming my life from the pit and crowning me with Your steadfast love.9 Your plans for me are for good and not for evil, to give me a future and a hope.10 Help me to release the past and trust in the new thing You are doing in my life, even now, making a way in the wilderness and streams in the desert.11 I ask that Your peace, which guards my heart and mind, be made real in my life, even as I continue to lay my anxieties before You.12 I trust in Your healing power, and I pray that I may walk in the good works You have prepared for me as Your workmanship, created anew in Christ Jesus.13 In Jesus’ name, Amen.
