Heavenly Father, I with deep sorrow and repentance for my adultery. I am now fully aware of my sin and the pain it’s caused, and I’m trusting in Your steadfast love to cleanse me and wash me from all my iniquities.1 Like David, I confess that I have sinned against You, Lord, and I ask for Your forgiveness.2 Thank You for being faithful to forgive and cleanse me from all unrighteousness, as You have promised.3
Your Word reminds me to draw near to You, and You will draw near to me. I humble myself before You, seeking to cleanse my heart from sin.4 Though my sins are like scarlet, I trust that through Your grace they will be made white as snow.5 I turn back to You in repentance, trusting that my sins will be blotted out, and I will find restoration in Your presence.6
I confess my transgressions to You, and I thank You for the forgiveness You so graciously offer.7 Like the woman caught in sin, I hear You say, “Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more”.8 I long to walk in newness of life, free from the bondage of sin, for how can I continue in sin when I have died to it in Christ?9
Lord, I faithfully return to You, knowing that though I have been torn by my own actions, You will bind up my wounds and heal me.10 Purify my conscience by the blood of Christ, that I may serve You wholeheartedly.11
I humble my heart before You, Lord, knowing that You are gracious, merciful, and slow to anger, abounding in steadfast love.12 Help me to walk in the freedom of Your grace and to live a life that honors You, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
