Lord Jesus, I’ve come to see that I have a controlling attitude and need to be “large & in charge.” This is clearly my lack of trust in You. I’m here now, asking for Your forgiveness. Your Word teaches me to submit to others out of reverence for Christ.1 I desire to live submitted and trust that Your way is far better than mine.
Lord, I recognize that while many things may be permissible, not all things are helpful, and I should not be dominated by anything.2 Please help me to release my need for control, understanding that it is not my place to dominate but rather to live in harmony with those around me. Teach me to live with understanding and to show honor, as Your Word instructs, so that my prayers may not be hindered.3
I ask that You help me to love others as I love myself and to respect those You have placed in my life, acknowledging the roles and responsibilities You have ordained for each of us.4 Whatever form of impurity or selfserving has taken root in my heart, please weed it out and help me to have thanksgiving and humility as the hallmarks of my life.
Jesus, You called Peter to follow You and tend to Your sheep. I hear Your call to release my grip on control and to follow You wherever You lead.5 You are the way, the truth, and the life,6 and I surrender to Your leadership, trusting that You know what is best for me. Lord, lead me beside still waters, restore my soul, and guide me in paths of righteousness for Your name’s sake.7 Help me to trust You fully, knowing that even when I walk through the darkest valleys, You are with me to comfort me.8 I surrender my will to Yours, choosing to live in the freedom and peace that comes from trusting in Your perfect plan, in Jesus’ name.
