Father, there are times when I’m really scared. Even so, I know the world isn’t going to change, and that I need to change to face it. That is why I am here, seeking the courage that only You can provide. Your Word reminds me to be strong and courageous, to not be frightened or dismayed, knowing that You are with me wherever I go.1 That’s good news and I want to embrace it. I thank You for the spirit of power, love, and self-control that You’ve placed within me, a spirit that banishes fear.2
Lord, when I come up against challenges, let me be strong and courageous, trusting that You will never leave me or forsake me.3 I long to wait upon You, finding strength in Your presence as I face the trials of life.
May I take courage as I wait for Your guidance.4 I will remain watchful and firm in my faith, knowing You are my firm foundation.5 Grant me Your peace, as You promise that is not like the world’s peace. I don’t have to let my heart be troubled or afraid.6 Help me to walk confidently through the valleys I encounter, standing firm in my faith because You are with me; Your rod and staff bring me comfort.7
As I press forward, I trust in You with all my heart, acknowledging You in all my ways, believing that You will make my paths straight.8 Even in tribulation, I take heart in knowing that You have overcome the world.9
Teach me to believe and not fear, as You have encouraged us, reminding me to put my trust in You.10 Lord, let me be bold and courageous, not fearing bad news, my heart firm and trusting in You.11 I recognize that with Your strength, I can do all things.12 Thank You for being my source of courage and comfort in every affliction, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
