Lord, Jesus… I am deflated. I thought I was on the right path; it sure felt right. But now, I’m like a balloon whose air has escaped. You saw how hard I was trying, and You know how disappointed I’m now feeling. But I am going to turn toward You, which is why I’m here.
You promised that You have plans for me, plans for good and not for evil, to give me a hope and a future.1 Oh, how I want to believe that scripture! Help me to trust in You with all my heart and not to lean on my own understanding, for my emotions sometimes cloud my judgment.2 As I navigate feelings of despair, I hear Your command to be strong and courageous. Remind me that You are with me wherever I go. I do not need to be frightened or dismayed.3 When I feel overwhelmed, help me to take heart, knowing You have overcome the world.4
Lord, in weakness, I acknowledge Your grace is sufficient for me. Your power is made perfect in my struggles. Teach me to embrace my weaknesses as opportunities for Your strength to shine.5 Help me cast all my anxieties on You, knowing full well that You care for me.6 When I struggle with prayer, remind me of the Holy Spirit’s intercession, groaning on my behalf when I cannot find the words.7 Lord, I trust that if You are for me, nothing can stand against me.8 Help me to remain steadfast and immovable in my faith, always abounding in Your work, knowing that what I do in You is not in vain.9
Fill me, God of hope, with joy and peace as I place my trust in You, that I may overflow with hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.10 As I wait for Your guidance, strengthen my heart and help me to be courageous, remembering that You lead me and will never forsake me.11 Thank You for Your faithfulness. I hold onto the truth of Your Word, which sustains me in my discouragement.
