Jesus, I come to You for strength and healing, as I have many times. Living with a chronic disease is a constant challenge and reminder of my weaknesses. While You were on Earth you healed many with sickness and disease—some chronic, like the woman who touched your cloak.
Your Word reassures me that You will wipe away every tear from my eyes, and that pain will ultimately be no moreⁱ. I hold tightly onto that promise, when I will experience the fullness of Your joy. However, here and now, in my weakness, I want to find my strength in You and in remind myself that Your grace is sufficient for me, and that Your power is made perfect in my weakness.1 I choose to boast in my struggles, knowing it allows Your power to rest upon me. Help me to trust in the peace I have through faith, despite the trials I face.2 May this peace guard my heart and mind as I bring my concerns to You.3
Lord, please help me to endure the tribulations of this life with hope and joy, knowing that You have overcome the world.4 I ask that You continue to disarm any spiritual forces that seek to bind me in despair and discouragement. Remind me of the triumph of the cross and the victory it represents in my life.5
I pray for the wisdom to handle my condition and to honor my body as a temple of the Holy Spirit.6 Help me to take care of myself physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Let me also be a witness to others, sharing my journey and the comfort I find in You. May my experiences lead to opportunities to encourage those who face similar challenges. Thank You for hearing my prayers and for the promise of Your presence in my life. I trust in Your plans for me, knowing they are good and filled with hope. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
