Lord, Jesus, every few years it hits me that time is slipping away, and it weighs me down, to the point of being fearful. I watch others around me age, some not so gracefully; losing their strength, vitality, and purpose. But Your Word reassures me that even in my old age, You will carry and sustain me.1 Even though getting old is inevitable, Your Word reminds me that while my outer self is wasting away, my inner self is being renewed day by day.2
Help me focus on this renewal and trust in Your strength. You have ordained the number of my days, and I hold onto the truth that my life has purpose, even in this season.3
Father, let me not fear the future but instead find peace in Your presence. Teach me to embrace the wisdom that comes with age and live as a testament to Your grace. Let my gray hair be a crown of glory, a reflection of righteousness.4
Help me to be an encouragement to others, bearing fruit in old age and continuing to serve Your kingdom.5 I surrender my fears to You, asking for Your peace that surpasses all understanding.6
Strengthen me as I wait on You, so I may run the race with perseverance, knowing You are with me every step of the way.7 In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.
