Lord, I know emotions are a part of our make-up. You showed great emotion while here, so You understand. However, circumstances have caused me to feel beyond emotional to now suffering. So much so that lately I can hardly move… However, I am here, right now, looking toward You because You promise that You are near to the brokenhearted and save the crushed in spirit.1 Even in my pain, I want to trust that You are working all things together for good because I love You and am called according to Your purpose.2
Lord, in this time of hardship, help me to bear my burdens and lean on others as we are called to bear one another’s burdens and fulfill the law of Christ.3 Remind me that my present suffering is momentary and is preparing for me an eternal glory beyond all comparison.4 I rejoice, even in suffering, knowing that it produces endurance, character, and hope.5
Father, I may not understand the reasons for my pain, I believe that through it, Your works are being displayed in my life.6 Help me take up my cross daily and follow You faithfully,7 knowing that all souls belong to You and that You hold my life in Your hands.8
I find comfort in knowing that even when I cry out to You in my distress, You hear my prayers and are with me in my suffering.9 Give me strength to endure, and teach me trust through this trial, as Christ learned through His own suffering.10
Lord, I cast all my anxieties and emotional pain onto You, for I know that You care deeply for me.11 May Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus. I choose to trust in You and Your plan, believing that You are making me perfect through this suffering.12 In Jesus’ name, I pray.
