Father… can I call You Father? I want to so bad, but I have a blurry image of what “Father” means since I don’t have one. I want a man to look up, to teach me what being a man really means. So, I will get closer to You because I know you are a good father. I’ve read in the Bible that You’re a Father of the fatherless and the protector of widows, offering help in our times of need.1 I will let Your powerful presence surround me and fill the void of not having a father. Remind me that I am not alone, for You are my eternal Father, watching over and caring for me. Lord, please help me, and others live out pure and undefiled religion by visiting orphans and helping those in affliction.2 Give me a heart that seeks to understand the struggles of fatherless children and empowers me to make a difference in their lives. Show me ways to support and encourage those who feel abandoned.
I also pray for justice to be served for the fatherless, as You command us to do.3 Help me to be a voice for those who cannot speak for themselves. May I defend the rights of the fatherless and protect them from harm, just as You desire. Your Word instructs us to learn to do good, seek justice, correct oppression, and plead the cause of the fatherless.4 Let this be my mission and my passion.
Father, I reflect on Your promise of love and salvation through Your Son, who came to redeem us all.5 May every fatherless child know that they are valued and loved by You, and that their identity is found in You, not in their circumstances. Help them to understand that they have access to the riches of Your grace, and that they are never truly abandoned. I pray for patience, compassion, and wisdom as I seek to support those who face the challenges of growing up without a father. Let Your light shine through me, encouraging others to walk alongside those in need. Thank You for being my guide through life’s greatest trials. In Jesus’ name.
