Fear (of Hell)

Jesus, You spoke of the urgency of dealing with sin and its consequences, teaching that it is better to enter life with one eye than to be cast into hell.1

Well, that’s what I’m talking about; those secret areas. I’m counting on Your patience and mercy because Your Word warns of the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels,2 and the torment that awaits those who choose to reject You.3 The thought of such separation from You fills me with fear, but I know I don’t need to live in fear if I trust in You. Jesus, You spoke of the urgency of dealing with sin and its consequences, teaching that it is better to enter life with one eye than to be cast into hell.4

I ask You to search my heart and reveal to me any areas where I need to surrender completely to You. I believe that Your love for me is boundless, and You sent Your Son, Jesus, so that I would not perish, but have eternal life.5 I accept this precious gift of grace and renounce the fear that would hold me captive. Lord, thank You for the promise that those who trust in You will be with You forever.6 I long to experience Your eternal joy, and I trust that You will guide me through any fear or doubt. Though the devil and the powers of hell seek to destroy, I believe that You, Jesus, have the keys to death and Hades, and You are victorious.7 You have already made a way for me through Your sacrifice, and I stand firm in that promise.

Father, help me to walk by faith, knowing that my salvation is not by my works but through Your grace alone.8 I trust You fully and ask You to remove the fear of hell from my heart, replacing it with the peace of Your eternal love. May I live with the assurance of Your salvation and the courage to share Your hope with others.
