Fear of Man

Lord, Jesus, You know how cruel people can be. Unfiltered and judgmental, intimidating other people. But just as bad, seeking their approval and validation. Well, I’m here, and praying for You to help me start to grow stronger. Let me start with, whoever trusts in the Lord is safe.1 And You are my helper; I will not fear, for what can man do to me?2

Lord, I acknowledge that I should not fear those who can only harm the body but cannot touch my soul. Instead, I should fear You alone, the One who has power over both soul and body.3 Forgive me for the times I have sought to please man rather than to serve You.4 You have not given me a spirit of fear, but a spirit of power, love, and self-control.5

Father, remind me that it is always better to take refuge in You than to place my trust in man.6 You are the One who comforts me. I should not fear those who are as transient as grass.7 Perfect Your love in me, Lord, that all fear may be cast out, as I know that in You, I am made perfect in love.8 I cast all my anxieties upon You because You care for me.9 Help me to stop regarding man, and instead to focus on Your eternal presence.10 I know that You, who are in me, are greater than anyone or anything in this world.11 No weapon formed against me shall prosper, for this is my heritage as Your servant.12

May I work heartily as for You, Lord, and not for men.13 Guard my heart and mind with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, as I present my requests to You in prayer.14 Transform me, renewing my mind, so that I may discern Your good and perfect will for my life.15 I surrender my fears to You, trusting in Your presence and resting in Your love. Amen.
