Dear Father, as a foreigner and alien in this new environment, I’m feeling very separated and alone, but You know that I want to be accepted and belong. And as I now live among those who may not share my values or beliefs, I pray for wisdom and strength. I am reminded that “the one who is in me is greater than the one who is in the world”. As an outsider, may this truth instill in me confidence as l encounter these challenges.
Lord, You have told us not to believe every spirit, but to test the spirits to see if they are from You.1 I seek discernment as I engage with all that surrounds me. Help me to remain grounded in Your truth, reflecting Your love and righteousness in all I do. I long to fulfill the royal law of loving my neighbor as myself,2 as I interact with those around me. In a world that often feels hostile, remind me to be sober-minded and watchful.3 I know that many are misled by false teachings and harmful desires. May I stand firm against these influences and not allow myself to be swayed by the world’s temptations. Help me to focus on what is good and pure, as I strive to keep my conscience clear.
Father, I recognize that the certainty of judgment can be daunting, but I trust in Your grace and mercy. You have called us to peace,4 and I seek that peace in my heart, despite my feelings of alienation. Assure me that I belong to You and reaffirm my identity as Your child. In my moments of weakness, help me to remember that You have equipped me with all I need to fulfill Your purpose in my life.5 Thank You for Your ever-present love and guidance as I navigate this journey of faith, in Jesus’ name.
