Lord, I have a terrible habit of grumbling about those who don’t measure up to my expectations. It’s a bad habit that I want to break, and I need Your help. Your Word reminds me to speak evil of no one, to avoid quarrels, and to show perfect courtesy to all.1 Help me, Lord, to embody this spirit in my interactions with others, reflecting Your love and grace.
Father, I honor Christ in my heart, always ready to share the hope I have, but to do so with gentleness and respect.2 Teach me to give a soft answer that turns away wrath, rather than a harsh word that stirs anger.3 I know Your gentleness has made me strong,4 and I ask that You continue to mold my spirit in this way.
Grant me wisdom from above, which is pure, peaceable, gentle, and open to reason.5 Help me to remember that as Your servant, I am called to be kind to everyone, patient in difficult situations, and gentle even when correcting others.6 May I bear the fruit of the Spirit, including gentleness, in every aspect of my life.7
Lord Jesus, You invite me to take Your yoke and learn from You, for You are gentle and humble in heart. Through this, I know I will find rest for my soul.8
Enable me to walk in humility and gentleness, bearing with others in love,9 and to let my gentleness be evident to all.10
Help me to be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry, knowing that human anger does not produce the righteousness that You desire.11 Clothe me with compassion, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, so that I may serve You faithfully.12 Lord, may my words and actions be like honey, sweet to the soul and health to the body.13 Let my spirit be gentle, knowing that in Your sight, this is very precious.14 Guide me in walking humbly with You and showing kindness to all I meet.15 In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
