Lord Jesus, my world is crashing down around me. I don’t know where to turn. I am feeling hopeless. So, I’m turning to You. You promised that You’d take care of us who believe… well, I’m doing my best to believe, but I need some help, even in that department. You promised to be near the brokenhearted and save those crushed in spirit. When the righteous cry for help, You hear them and deliver them from all their troubles.
You are near to me now, even in my affliction, and I trust that You will deliver me out of this darkness.1 Those are some specific promises, and I will paste them on my fridge! Lord, You have plans for my welfare, not for evil, to give me a future and hope.2 So, I’m bringing my anxieties before You, laying them down with thanksgiving, trusting that Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus.3
Strengthen me, for I can do all things through You.4 You have promised that no temptation will overtake me beyond my ability, and You will provide a way of escape.5 I come to You, burdened, asking for rest for my weary soul, knowing Your yoke is easy and Your burden light.6 As I wait on You, renew my strength so I can rise like an eagle and not grow weary.7
I believe that nothing is impossible with You.8 Even in the darkest times, I hold on to the hope that one day You will wipe every tear from my eyes, and mourning, crying, and pain will be no more.9 Fill me with joy and peace in believing that by the power of the Holy Spirit I may abound in hope.10 Help me to rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, and constant in prayer,11 knowing that You hear and deliver me. I trust in You, Lord, and place all my hope in You. Amen.
