Father, for reasons You know fully, I am feeling very alone. And that has turned into a constant sense of loneliness. Day and night, it follows me and tries to convince me that this is my life now. But Lord, I know that is not the case; I know that You are with me always, even when I feel most alone. You promised that You will never leave or forsake me, and I hold onto that truth with all my heart.1 When I feel abandoned, remind me that You have engraved me on the palms of Your hands, and my walls are continually before You.2
I cast all my fears upon You, knowing that You care deeply for me.3 Even though I may walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will not fear, for You are with me. Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.4 Help me to feel Your presence in the middle of my loneliness, knowing that You are the Shepherd who leads me beside still waters and restores my soul.5
Lord, I ask for the strength to be courageous and not be dismayed by the feelings of isolation that sometimes overwhelm me. You are my God, and You promise to strengthen me, help me, and uphold me with Your righteous right hand.6 When the world seems to close in around me, let me find refuge in You, my ever-present help in trouble.7
Thank You, Lord, for being the Father to the fatherless and the protector of those who feel alone.8 I trust in Your unfailing love and the peace that surpasses all understanding, which will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus.9 Fill me with the joy of Your presence and the assurance that nothing can separate me from Your love.10 I rest in the knowledge that You are near to the brokenhearted and that You will bind up my wounds.11 In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
