I’m here before You, Lord, because I’m starting to believe what others say about me, that “I’m a loser…” Am I, Lord? Am I here to fail and be an embarrassment? You said You knew me from my very start. But I question my worth and purpose; to be quite honest and blunt, I do feel like a loser. But, when I read what you say, You said: “You have plans for me, plans for good and not for evil, to give me a future and a hope”.1 Please remind me of this truth when I feel like a failure or overwhelmed by life’s challenges. Lord, I recognize that my worth comes from You and that I am created in Your image.2 Help me to see myself through Your eyes, embracing the identity You have given me as a beloved child. When I am tempted to focus on my short-comings, guide me back to the truth that I am fearfully and wonderfully made.3
In moments of doubt, help me remember that even in the world’s eyes, appearances can be deceiving. You look at my heart, not the outward appearance.4 Teach me to focus on my inner character, nurturing the qualities of kindness, compassion, and resilience. I also seek Your support in rejecting any negativity that may come from others. Your Word assures me that I can find peace in You even amidst tribulation.5 Help me to trust that You are with me as I walk through the valleys of life, providing comfort and guidance.6
As I strive for growth, I pray for the strength to persevere through difficult times. May I see each trial as an opportunity to cultivate endurance and character.7 Let me be steadfast in my faith, knowing that every experience contributes to who I am becoming in Your eyes. Finally, Father, help me to remember that You are my Shepherd, and I shall not want.8 Fill my heart with joy and gratitude, knowing that You provide for my needs and guide me toward a fulfilling life in You. Thank You for loving me, for Your plans, and for the hope I have in Christ. In Jesus’ name.
