Loved Ones (missing)

Lord, God, the situation is what it is, but it’s also challenging to be so far away from loved ones. I feel disconnected from the details of their life and also from mine. There’s an ache that I need You to soothe. You know what I mean when Your Father had to look away from You when You carried all our sins. Unless someone’s been in this situation, it’s hard to relate. It’s heavy, and I struggle to find peace. Your Word reminds me of Your great love, for You so loved the world that You gave Your only Son for us to have eternal life.1

I acknowledge that my loved ones who have passed on are now in Your presence, filled with Your love and peace, and I am grateful for the hope of reunion one day. Lord, help me to cherish the memories we created, knowing that they will forever hold a special place in my heart. As I experience moments of grief, may I not be distracted by my sorrow but choose to focus on that which brings comfort, just as Mary did when she sat at Your feet.2

Lord, I know that You are the Prince of Peace.3 I ask for Your peace to envelop me, providing comfort in my longing. Help me to find solace in Your promises, especially as I read that there will come a day when You wipe away every tear from our eyes, and death and pain will be no more.4 This hope sustains me through the darker days when the ache of their absence feels the deepest.

As I wait for that glorious day, help me to live a life that honors their memories and reflects Your love. Teach me to be present in my interactions with others, spreading the love and joy that they brought into my life. I trust that Your timing is perfect, and that one day, I will see them again in Your eternal kingdom. Thank You, Lord, for the gift of love that binds us, even beyond this life. In Jesus’ name.
