Lord, I humble myself, acknowledging that being a man, a man of integrity in the world today is nothing short of difficult. There’s no shortage of stumbling blocks in my path. Nevertheless, Your Word reminds me that You created man in Your own image’. I want to honor that truth and respect Your commitment to me and what it means to embrace the responsibilities that come with this role. I seek to build meaningful relationships and uphold the value of marriage, recognizing that “a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife”.1 Help me to be a loving and supportive partner, committed to my spouse and dedicated to nurturing our union. I know that it is not good for man to be alone,2 and I pray for wisdom in fostering loving relationships built on trust and respect.
Guide me to avoid being unequally yoked with unbelievers.3 I desire to surround myself with those who uplift and encourage me in my walk with You. Give me discernment in my relationships, so I can build connections that honor You and support my faith. In moments of temptation, remind me of Your promise that no temptation has overtaken me that is not common to man.4 Help me to flee from sexual immorality and to seek purity in my thoughts and actions.5 Teach me to cultivate self-control and to live righteously, reflecting Your love to those around me. Lord, I also ask for strength to stand firm against the trials I may face. Your Word reassures me that I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.6
Finally, I pray for the health and well-being of all men everywhere. May we seek to grow in grace, becoming examples of Your love and integrity in a world that often values the opposite.7 Thank You for loving us and for calling us for Your purpose, in Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
