Jesus, I realized that, at my age, and it’s a cliché, but I’m in a mid-life crisis. So much is suddenly in question, which on one hand is curious but also quite dangerous. I am so blessed and do not want to make selfish mistakes. I know there is a time and season for everything under heaven.1 I know You are with me in this valley, wanting to comfort and guide me, even when flooded with doubts.2
Honestly, I don’t trust myself, and so I’m trusting that You will light the way and make my path straight.3 Please fill me with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, guarding my heart and mind in Christ,4 because I fear my own feelings and decisions. Please carry me now just as You have in every stage of my life. I trust in Your steadfast promise to be my guide always.5 I believe You have a purpose and a future for me, one that is filled with hope and not despair6; please let me not derail Your plans.
Help me to see that all things, even this season, work together for my good because I love You and am called according to Your purpose.7 Give me the wisdom to cast my anxieties on You, knowing that You care deeply for me.8
I come to You for rest, laying down my burdens, trusting in Your gentle yoke that brings rest to my soul.9 Please renew a right spirit within me and purify my heart as I walk through this journey.10 Strengthen me, Lord, so I don’t lose heart. I know my inner self is being renewed day by day, even if my outer self feels worn.11
Guide my steps, Lord, as You establish my ways.12 Teach me to number my days wisely, filling me with Your perspective and purpose.13 Remind me that I am Your workmanship, created for good works, and that You have prepared a path uniquely for me.14 In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
