Jesus, Your plan is to move forward and not look back. Nevertheless, my past follows me around like a shadow. I’m seeking Your deliverance from the enemy’s constant reminders. I want to remind him I’m a new creation; the old has passed away, and the new has come.1 Help me to fully embrace this truth and release my past mistakes and regrets; You have!
Your Word calls me to forget what lies behind and to press on toward the goal of Your calling.2 I long to move forward, free from the chains that have held me back. Lord, I thank You that You are doing a new thing in my life, making a way in the wilderness and streams in the desert.3 Help me to focus on Your plans for me, plans for a future filled with hope and not harm.4 I cling to Your promise that there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,5 strength me to let go of any lingering guilt.
Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.6 Where my mind wanders to painful memories, remind me that You have cast my sins into the depths of the sea.7 I am grateful for Your forgiveness, which cleanses me from all unrighteousness.8 I hold onto the assurance that You remember my sins no more.9
Transform me by the renewal of my mind so that I may discern Your will and walk in Your truth.10 Help me to put off the old self and to be renewed in the spirit of my mind, embracing the new self-created to be like You in righteousness and holiness.11 May Your steadfast love, which is new every morning, wash over me and bring peace to my soul.12 Thank You for Your mercy and grace that cover me daily. I trust that as I lean on You, You will lead me into freedom and wholeness. Guide my steps forward, Lord, and help me live in the fullness of life that You have prepared for me. Amen.
