Peace (lack of)

Lord, even though You ARE peace, You also experienced anxiety, in the Garden Gethsemane. So, You know what it feels like to be fearful. Nevertheless, I take heart because, while I may face tribulations in this world, You have overcome them all.1 Also, You are faithful. No trial I face is beyond my ability to bear with Your help.2

As I struggle with lack of peace, Lord, grant me the peace that only You can provide. You say, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you”.3 Let this peace wash over me and replace my troubling thoughts and fears. When times are tough, help me to count my trials as joy, knowing that challenges serve to strengthen my faith.4 In weakness, remind me that I can do all things through You who strengthens me.5

I long to cling to the assurance of things hoped for and the conviction of what I cannot yet see.6 May I seek You with a heart of faith, knowing that You reward those who earnestly pursue You.7 Fill me with joy and peace as I believe in Your promises, for I trust that all things are working together for my good.8

In the middle of my anxiety, I cast my cares upon You, confident in Your loving concern for me.9 When I feel lost or afraid, remind me that You are my light and my salvation. You are a stronghold in my life, and there is nothing to fear.10

Lead me beside still waters; restore my soul.11 Help me to dwell in Your presence and to find comfort in Your faithfulness. Thank You for hearing my prayer and for guiding me back to the path of peace. I trust in Your perfect plan for my life. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.
