Father God, Your Bible is full of men and women who persevered. And that is what I need right now. Your Word says that those who remain steadfast under trial are blessed and will receive a crown of life that You have promised to those who love You.1 Well, I do love You and I want to endure through my trials, trusting that You are producing endurance, character, and hope in me through them.2
Help me to remember that I am not alone in my journey, but that I need endurance so that after I have done Your will, I may receive what You have promised.3 Please give me the strength to continue doing good without growing weary.4 Let me not lose heart, knowing that in due season, I will reap if I do not give up.5
I count it all joy when I face trials, for I know that the testing of my faith produces steadfastness.6 Let steadfastness have its full effect in me so that I may be complete, lacking in nothing. Strengthen me with all power, according to Your glorious might, so that I may have great endurance and patience with joy.7
Lord, remind me of the race set before me. Let me lay aside every weight and run with endurance, fixing my eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of my faith.8 I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.9 Father, I pray that as I persevere, I may keep my eyes fixed on the eternal reward and the joy of finishing well. Let me be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in You, my labor is not in vain.10 In Jesus’ name, Amen.
