Dear God, Your creation is awesome. Sex too is amazing. While You intended it for us to multiply, You made it fun and a powerful expression of love. What you did not intend was for sex to be outside of marriage, which is why I’m humbly before You, now. Your Word teaches me to honor marriage and keep the marriage bed undefiled,1 recognizing the importance of purity and commitment. Help me to understand that Your will for me is my ultimate sanctification, which includes abstaining from sexual immorality.2 Help me to cultivate a spirit of self-control, so I may honor You in every aspect of my life.
Lord, I know that sexual temptation can be powerful, yet I also trust in Your promise that I can flee from it and find strength in You.3 Teach me to glorify You in my body, understanding that my body is a temple of the Holy Spirit.4 As I navigate relationships, may I seek genuine connection and love, rather than falling into the fleeting passions of lust.
Your Word says it is better to marry than to burn with passion.5 Whether single or in a relationship, guide my heart toward holiness and purity. Let the values of respect and honor guide my interactions, allowing me to be an example of righteousness to those around me.6 Help me resist temptations society presents as normal. Remind me that sexual immorality is not just a personal choice but has spiritual implications and consequences.7 I desire to put to death what is earthly in me and embrace the life You offer—filled with joy, peace, and love.8
I pray for the strength to make choices that reflect my commitment to You. Let me also be a source of encouragement to others, guiding them toward Your truth and away from the pitfalls of sexual immorality. Thank You for Your endless love and grace as I seek to align my life with Your teachings. In the name of Jesus.
