Time Management

Lord, Jesus, I’m a little surprised that I’m here on time, to be with You. Which brings me to a problem—me, stuffing ten pounds into a five-pound sack. In other words, I’ve become terrible with my time management.

Your Word instructs me to look carefully at how I walk, making the best use of the time because the days are evil.1 Help me to be wise in my choices, because every moment is a gift from You. You said, consider the ant, who prepares her bread in summer and gathers food during the harvest.2 I’m going to take that analogy to heart to show me how to be more productive and responsible.

Teach me to number my days, that I may gain a heart of wisdom,3 and that there is a time for everything under heaven.4 Help me to better distinguish what deserves attention and how to prioritize them. I need to stop boasting about my plans for tomorrow, as I do not know what the day may bring.5 Please adjust my views to focus on the present and give me the grace to seek Your kingdom first, trusting that all I need will be provided.6

Father, like Martha, I often find myself distracted by many things, forgetting to prioritize time spent with You.7 Draw me back to sit at Your feet, where I can find true rest and guidance in the middle of my busy life. Help me to choose the good portion that will not be taken away.

Lastly, remind me of my fleeting days and help me to live intentionally, avoiding haste, which leads to lack of fulfillment.8 May my plans be rooted in diligence and aligned with Your will, leading me toward abundance rather than chaos. I commit to seeking Your wisdom in all my endeavors, trusting that You will help me manage my time effectively. Thank You for Your patience and guidance. I trust that with Your help, I can learn to steward my time wisely and live a life that honors You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
