Heavenly Father, I so often worry about who exactly I am, my identity, I mean. And as a women in a confusing culture, I need to know… At times, I feel lost, struggling to embrace the fullness of who You created me to be. Yet Your Word reminds me that I am made in Your image, fearfully and wonderfully crafted by Your hands.1 You designed both male and female in Your divine likeness.2 With that in mind, please help me to see myself through Your eyes, not defined by the world’s standards, but by the beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which You deem precious.3 Guide me to adorn myself with good works and a heart of godliness,4 so that my life may reflect Your grace and love.
I thank You that in Christ, there is no division between male and female, for we are all one in You.5 Strengthen me to walk confidently in the calling You have placed on my life as a woman, knowing that I am Your workmanship, created for good works.6 I know that before I was even born, You knew me and consecrated me for Your plans.7
Help me to embrace the qualities of the Proverbs 31 woman who is described as more precious than jewels, diligent in her work, and a blessing to her family.8 Remind me that I am not independent of others, but that as woman and man were created for one another, all things come from You.9 Guide me in humility and respect, adorning myself with modesty and self-control.10 Above all, may Your Spirit bear witness with mine that I am a child of God, an heir of Your promises, and worthy in Your sight,11 in Jesus’ name, Amen.
