Worry (Victory over)

Jesus, I confess that I worry a lot. I also admit that it doesn’t help—with anything! It steals time and energy and those around can sometime get tired with my anxiety.

Your Word reminds me not to be anxious but to bring everything to You in prayer with thanksgiving, and Your peace will guard my heart and mind.1 I really need to stick that on my refrigerator. I cast my cares on You because You care for me.2 Help me release every concern into Your capable hands, knowing You will sustain me.

Your Word teaches that anxiety weighs down the heart, but a good word makes it glad.3 Speak Your words of comfort into my heart, lifting my heaviness – replacing it with Your joy. Remind me You provide for me, and my life is worth more than the things I worry about.4

Jesus, You promised Your peace, not as the world gives, but as a lasting gift. Help me to receive this peace fully.5 Teach me to seek Your kingdom first, trusting You to meet my needs.6 I don’t want to be consumed by worries I want to be secure in You, for You are with me and will strengthen and help me.7

I ask for Your strength as I face my fears. Jesus, You call me to come to You when I am weary, promising rest for my soul.8 Teach me to rest in Your presence, knowing that I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.9

Thank You for hearing my prayers and guiding me with Your loving hand. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
